Trapped in the Tumblr Closet: Chippy Nonstop
On first meeting, Chippy Nonstop (née Chhavi Nanda) comes off as an unassumingly sweet and bubbly 21-year-old. Put her on a stage, on a table, or anywhere in the spotlight, and watch her transform into the rhyme-dropping, rump-thumping, audacious little rapper she’s known to be.
Born in Dubai, raised in Toronto, and currently based in Oakland, she can be found hanging with bestie and fellow girl rapper Kreayshawn (who headlined their Group Hug Tour that wrapped at the end of 2012), expressing herself on Twitter, and making music videos.
Chippy stopped by the Closet and, between swigs from her forty, talked to us about the origins of her name, what the future holds, and mastering the art of the twerk.
